Still tickets left for Summerland’s Christmas train

It has become a local Christmas tradition, but time is running out if you want to get your ticket for a ride on Summerland’s Christmas Express.

Gliding through the Summerland hills with Santa, it’s a great way to celebrate the season. The locomotive and coaches are decked out with lights and a festive mood is part of the attraction for this special ride that continues to grow in popularity every year.

It's a great way for kids to see Santa, sing Christmas Carols and take in the spectacular scenery.

This year the train schedule for the Christmas Express is:

• Dec. 12 through Dec. 16, with runs at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
• Dec. 19 through Dec. 23, with runs at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Kettle Valley Steam Railway administrative assistant Mariana Holder says there are a few trains with seats still available. If you missed this year, bookmark it early for next year because it fills up fast. 

“The only days that still have availability are Dec. 12, 13, 16 and 19. All other trains are sold out,” she says.
