Shania Twain to embark on first tour in 11 years – and possibly her last

TORONTO – Man! Shania Twain feels like one last big tour.

The Timmins, Ont., country star has announced a 48-date North American tour, her first such trek in 11 years.

The 49-year-old will begin June 5 in Seattle before embarking upon a slew of Canadian dates, beginning with two shows at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena June 7 and 9.

After that, Twain will wind through Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, London, Ont., Hamilton, Toronto and Ottawa before wrapping in Montreal June 28.

From there, she’ll whisk through the U.S. until wrapping up Aug. 23 in Fresno, Calif.

The tour follows Twain’s completion of a two-year residency at the plush Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

“This is a celebration tour. It’s party time!” Twain said in a release.

“The ‘Rock This Country’ tour will have a different spirit than my past tours. It’s a Shania they’ve never seen before. A lot of years have gone by and I’ve got a lot more to share.”

In an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Twain suggested this will be her final major tour.

“This is going to be a big, big tour for me because it’s going to be my last. This is my last tour. So yeah, I’m going to make the most of it, let’s put it that way.”
