NBC brings Andy Lack back to run news division in wake of Brian Williams suspension
NEW YORK, N.Y. – NBC Universal announced its executive reshuffling of its troubled news department on Friday, bringing back its former news chief Andy Lack to supervise the division and MSNBC.
Lack will take over for Pat Fili-Krushel, who has been responsible for NBC’s News Groups. The only difference in Lack’s role is that he will not be overseeing CNBC.
NBC Universal CEO Steve Burke said Lack’s experience and familiarity with the company will be critical to its growth and success. He joins NBC News at a time of trouble, shortly after “Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams was suspended for six months for misrepresenting his role covering the war in Iraq.
