Border Patrol agent accused of peeping in women’s restroom at San Diego station is arrested
SAN DIEGO – A U.S. Border Patrol supervisor who was under investigation for allegedly installing a camera in a women’s restroom has been arrested.
U-T San Diego (http://bit.ly/1EXcYUc ) reports Armando Gonzalez was taken into custody Friday in San Diego County. FBI spokesman Darrell Foxworth says charges are sealed until Gonzalez appears in federal court Monday.
Gonzalez was issued a citation in January for allegedly installing a camera in a restroom at a Border Patrol station in San Diego. San Diego police said at the time that he was accused of peeping with a recording a device.
Gonzalez’s attorney, Gretchen von Helms, has said the issue is whether the camera was installed for legal investigative purposes.
Gonzalez has been a Border Patrol employee for more than 20 years.
