Fifty-three-year-old worker killed on the job by falling tree in Delta, B.C.

DELTA, B.C. – A 53-year-old man has died in Delta, B.C., after being crushed by a falling tree.

The man was clearing trees for Paul’s Tree Service (in the 7900-block of Huston Road) when the incident occurred at around 9 a.m. Saturday.

A spokesman for WorkSafe B.C. says they received a call at about 10:15 a.m. and sent three investigators.

Scott McCloy says the incident is a tragedy and investigators will work to determine what happened and how such an event could be prevented in the future.

Delta Police are also investigating.

St. Paul’s Tree Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
