Vernon, B.C., man sentenced to nine months in jail, probation for child luring

VERNON, B.C. – A Vernon, B.C., man who attempted to lure a child online has been sentenced to nine months in jail.

Stewart Kerr was arrested in a restaurant in August 2013, when he thought he was meeting a young boy.

Kerr, who is in his 50s, had been communicating online with someone who he believed was a child.

He was actually in contact with an RCMP officer.

Kerr’s sentence includes three years’ probation, and he must provide a DNA sample. (CKIZ)
