US product safety regulators say Thor Motocross pyjamas recalled over flammability concerns

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Safety regulators say a retailer in California is recalling children’s pyjamas featuring the Thor Motocross logo because they don’t meet flammability protection standards.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday that K.J. Sportswear California is recalling 9,200 sets of one- and two-piece Thor pajama sets. The agency says children could be burned because the pyjamas don’t meet federal flammability standards. It says no injuries have been reported.

The pyjamas come in blue and white, red and white, and pink and black and have the word “Thor” printed centre front. They were sold in sizes six to 12 months, 12 to 18 months, and 18 to 24 months through youth large, They were available at Thor motocross retailers between June 2013 and December 2014 and sold at retail for $30 to $45 each. The pyjamas were made in China.

The CPSC says consumers should return the pyjamas to K.J. Sportswear for a full refund.
