Ex-ski coach charged with sexual assault and breach of trust
SAINT-JEROME, – A former junior ski coach with Team Canada has been arraigned on 47 charges, including sexual assault and breach of trust involving adolescents between the ages of 14 and 16.
Bertrand Charest allegedly committed the crimes between 1991 and 1998.
Police say they have received eight complaints against him.
A spokesman for Mont-Tremblant police said the alleged incidents occurred north of Montreal and in France, Austria, New Zealand and the United States.
Charest is being detained pending his next court appearance on Friday.
