Canadian tennis star Bouchard plays mixed doubles with pop star Bieber

LA QUINTA, Calif. – Eugenie Bouchard turned to a fellow Canadian for some mixed doubles fun at a charity event this week in California.

The world’s seventh-ranked women’s tennis player took to the court with pop star Justin Bieber at the Desert Smash celebrity event at LaQuinta Resort & Club. Bouchard posted an Instagram photo Wednesday of herself on court with Bieber and comedians Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart.

“So much fun playing tennis with @justinbieber Will Ferrel & @kevinhart4real at @desertsmash! And for Cancer for College, what a great cause,” she posted.

The event, which was hosted by Ferrell, benefits his Cancer for College charity.

Daniela Hantuchova, Sam Querrey, Mardy Fish and Fernando Verdasco were some of the other tennis players who participated.

At the 2014 Australian Open, Bouchard was asked during an on-court interview who she’d like to go out on a date with — and she quickly gave Bieber’s name.

He responded by sending a tweet wishing her good luck.
