Fresno State’s bulldog mascot dies from anaphylactic shock caused by a bee sting

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State’s bulldog mascot died Thursday from a severe anaphylactic shock caused by a bee sting.

Victor E. Bulldog II would have turned three next month.

“He attracted fans of all ages and was a loving face of Fresno State athletics,” senior associate athletic director Paul Ladwig said.

Fresno veterinarian Dr. Kelly Weaver donated the English Bulldog to the school.

“His unexpected passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of all who loved him,” Weaver said. “”Victor E. loved people, loved attending Fresno State events and was larger than life when it came to being around big crowds. All of us will miss him tremendously.”
