Comedian Ferrell’s spring training stunt immortalized on baseball statistics sites

Will Ferrell’s spring training stunt has sent him streaking straight into a baseball statistics website.

The star of “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” ”Elf” and several sports-related flicks played all nine positions and coached for 10 teams in five Arizona ballparks Thursday in a spring-training blitz chronicled for an HBO special.

His statistics have been chronicled by both baseball-reference.com (http://bit.ly/19hhNMu ) and mlb.com (http://atmlb.com/18ImwFK ).

Ferrell is listed 11 times under the March 12, 2015, transactions section of baseball-reference.com. Among the notable listings for John William Ferrell (Manimal) are: Traded to Chicago Cubs for a washing machine; Traded to Arizona Diamondbacks for a Churro Dog and D-Bat Dog; and claimed off waivers by Cincinnati Reds, Norm MacDonald released.

He’s listed as becoming arbitration eligible in 2018 and can file for free agency in 2021.
