Snow should disappear with warmer temperatures on the way for Kamloops

The snowy, cool start to the week in Kamloops is expected to end on a warmer note, with a few rain showers in between.

Kamloops woke up to several centimetres of snow today, Nov. 12,  as a Pacific frontal system passed over the city. The snow is expected to change to rain as temperatures moderate this afternoon.

Environment Canada says up to four centimetres of snow vell in the city with as much as 10 cm over higher terrain.

Today’s high should reach 5 Celsius with a low of 2 C and a 40 per cent possibility of showers this evening and after midnight.

Tomorrow should see a mix of sun and cloud in the morning with a high of 6 C. The sun and clouds should give way to cloudy periods overnight with a low of 1 C.

On Thursday, expect cloudy skies and a high of 7 C. On Thursday night, there is a 40 per cent chance of showers with a low of 3 C.

On Friday, the clouds and showers are expected to continue with a 40 per cent chance of rain and and a high of 8 C. Clearing conditions should take place overnight with a low of 2 C.

Rain returns in time for the weekend with a high of 7 C expected on Saturday. Cloudy conditions and a low of 5 C overnight are expected to give way to clearing skies and a high of 10 C on Sunday.

Cloudy periods and a low of 4 C are expected Sunday night, with Monday’s forecast for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 7 C.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 5 C and lows of -2 C.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014.
