Canadian funny man better known across the pond heading to Vernon

He's appeared in some of the most popular TV comedy shows in the U.K. and now the Canadian stand-up comedian, who you may never have heard of, is performing in Vernon.

Comedian Glenn Wool is set to take to the stage at the Green Pub at the Village Green Hotel on Friday, Nov. 29.

Originally from Vancouver, Wool started his career in comedy in 1995 and moved to London in 1998. Over the last two decades, Wool has performed what one critic described as "cleverly subversive" stand-up comedy all over the world winning awards and receiving nominations at various international comedy festivals.

Wool has also appeared in some of the most popular U.K. comedy TV shows including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, 8 Out of 10 cats, Russell Howard’s Good News and The Green Room with Paul Provenza. He also had a TV appearance on John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show.

While lesser known in his native Canada, he's received strong praise from critics across the U.K. getting rave reviews from the country's major daily newspapers including the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph and the Independent.

Glenn Wool plays the Green Pub at the Village Green Hotel on Nov. 29. Tickets cost $15 online and $20 at the door. For more information and to buy tickets go here.

Ben Bulmer

After a decade of globetrotting, U.K. native Ben Bulmer ended up settling in Canada in 2009. Calling Vancouver home he headed back to school and studied journalism at Langara College. From there he headed to Ottawa before winding up in a small anglophone village in Quebec, where he worked for three years at a feisty English language newspaper. Ben is always on the hunt for a good story, an interesting tale and to dig up what really matters to the community.
