
iN VIDEO: How to be sustainable this holiday season
With the Christmas season getting underway, there are several ways you can make the festivities more sustainable without sacrificing any fun or traditions.
Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops has released a guide in partnership with the local downtown business association, to help you make the holiday season more environmentally friendly through various tips and suggestions.
The video shows Santa Claus sitting down with TRU's director of sustainability Jim Gudjonson and the university's environmental programs and research coordinator James Gordon.
Some of the suggestions include decorating with energy-efficient and durable products, implementing the one-gift rule to reduce waste, wrapping presents in newspaper and researching sustainable food choices in the area.
