Kamloops RCMP searching for driver after 13-year-old boy struck by vehicle

Kamloops RCMP are searching for a driver and a vehicle after it was involved in a hit and run collision this afternoon.

Police say a 13-year-old boy suffered injuries today, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. when crossing Seymour Street in the crosswalk at 8 Avenue, according to a Kamloops RCMP media release. Police didn't specify the injuries but said they aren't life-threatening.

RCMP say the boy was struck and the vehicle did not stop after the collision and proceeded down Seymour Street and away from the scene. The boy was taken to a local medical facility.

The suspect vehicle is a black, newer model Buick Encore and it may or may not have damage to the front left quarter panel.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
