Weekend showers could turn to flurries next week in Okanagan

The Okanagan should see a mix of conditions over the next few days with some sun along with clouds and showers this weekend.

A cooling trend beginning on Monday is bringing the possibility of snow flurries into the forecast next week.

Environment Canada says today, Nov. 21, should be a mix of sun and cloud this morning in Kelowna and Penticton, with clearing in the afternoon.

It's expected to be mostly cloudy in Vernon today.

Today’s high should reach 3 Celsius in Vernon and 4 C in Kelowna and Penticton, with an overnight low of -4 C expected in Vernon and Kelowna, and -2 C in Penticton.

Winds up to 15 km/h could result in a wind chill of -5 C this evening under clear skies.

Tomorrow is expected to be mostly cloudy in Vernon with a high of 2 C. A mix of sun and cloud with a high 3 C is forecast for Kelowna, 5 C in Penticton, with overnight lows dipping to -2 C in all three cities.

Saturday the clouds are expected to roll in along with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 5 C.

Clouds along with a 40 per cent chance of showers continue through Saturday night with a low of 3 C.

A sun and cloud mix is also forecast for Sunday, along with a 60 per cent risk of showers.

Sunday’s expected high is 6 C with a low of – 3 C anticipated overnight.

On Monday, a cool down is expected along with a mix of sun and cloud and a 30 per cent chance of showers with a high of 3 C.

Overnight clouds carry a 30 per cent chance of flurries with a low of -2 C.

Tuesday is expected to be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of flurries and a high of 1 C. Clouds along with a 30 per cent chance of flurries is predicted for Tuesday night, with a low of -3 C.

Wednesday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of flurries, and a high of 0 C.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 2 C and lows of -4 C.
