After 10 years at the helm of the Okanagan Skaha School District 67, Superintendent Wendy Hyer has announced plans to retire.

Hyer as been superintendent since 2009. Prior to her joining School District 67, Hyer served as assistant superintendent for School District 58, Nicola Similkameen, for five years.
She has worked in the public education system since 1984, a press release issued by the school board this morning, Nov. 27, stated.
The board acknowledged Hyer’s 10 years with the district, noting among her accomplishments her work in securing funding to ensure rural schools remained open.
She was also instrumental in improving graduation rates and establishing the International Program.
