Sicamous RCMP seek assistance in tracking down stolen high-end boats
Sicamous RCMP are investigating after a pair of high-end boats were stolen over the weekend.
Police were alerted on Friday, Nov. 22 of a black and white 2014 Campion 20 foot ski boat with an attached tower was reportedly stolen from a locked underground parking facility on Riverside Drive in Sicamous.
The vessel’s licence number, which was visible on the boat’s hull, is BC4100966.
The next day, Saturday, Nov. 23, RCMP received report of a blue and white 2005 white Malibu 21 foot ski boat with an attached tower which was also stolen from the same facility.
The vessel licence number 2H85540 was displayed on the boat’s bow.
“In both cases the person or persons responsible for the thefts entered the secure parking garage by entering the security code to open the overhead garage doors,” Sicamous RCMP Sgt. Murray McNeil says in a release. “An image taken from video surveillance seized by our investigators captured on Friday Nov. 22 shows the stolen Campion vessel being towed away by a dark coloured SUV southbound along Highway 97A in the Mara area. The vehicle was displaying a stolen licence plate.”
Police are asking anyone with information related to the thefts or with information on the whereabouts of the stolen boats to call Sicamous RCMP at 250-836-2878.
