Kamloops RCMP investigating suspicious death
Kamloops RCMP is investigating a suspicious death after human remains were discovered today.
Police say in a news release issued today, Nov. 29, that human remains were discovered in the area of Carson Crescent in Kamloops.
RCMP were called to the area after a report of suspicious circumstances at 10 a.m. When police attended, they spoke with several witnesses and conducted an initial investigation.
Kamloops RCMP Serious Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is seeking the assistance of the public in advancing the case.
"A body was found near the alley running behind 170 Carson Crescent. We are at the very early stages of this investigation. We do know this is a criminal matter and not someone who simply died from exposure," Kamloops RCMP Plainclothes Commander Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay says in a release.
"The identity, gender, age, race are all unknown at this early stage. We expect there are witnesses out there who may be able to help us. We are asking anyone with information about who this person is to please contact Kamloops RCMP."
Anyone who may know who this person is should contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
