As the year comes to a close, they're sharing the most popular delivery items and butter chicken, vegetable samosas and beef tacos are tops in Penticton.
They've even made some calculations.
Penticton ordered butter chicken nearly 4,700 times, for example.
With all of those orders, you’d be able to put about a dish in every seat at the South Okanagan Events Centre for a Vees game.
Vegetable Samosas were ordered 3,600 times, which is a samosa for about every 18th metre of the entire Kettle Valley Railway Trail.
As for beef tacos, there were more than 1,200 orders. What Skip the Dishes couldn't say is whether it was a soft or hard shell that was favoured.
Hometown favourite restaurants are Ashoka Indian Cuisine, Lachi – Fine Indian Cuisine and The Pasta Factory.
Penticton’s biggest order was a whopping $385, and it included four orders of wings and a wide array of appetizers and sides. While that’s certainly impressive, it’s not even close to Canada’s biggest order of the year: a $4,004 order coming out of Greater Toronto.
The person who ordered the most often in Penticton in 2019 ordered a total of 191 times — that’s an order every second day from January 1 until now.
Not like it’s a competition or anything, but the nation’s most frequent orderer nearly quadruples that, with 764 orders so far… more than two a day.
