
Penticton fire department rescue man after ATV mishap
Members of the Penticton Fire Department tech rescue team were called to West Bench at Sage Mesa Drive and Ladera Place to rescue a man after his ATV rolled down a steep 150-foot embankment.
The mishap occurred around 4:45 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 9.
Neighbours of the victim were able to make contact with the victim at the base of the cliff prior to the arrival of firefighters.
The man suffered from serious injuries and required immediate medical attention.
With members of B.C. Ambulance standing by, Penticton rescue crews were able to retrieve the victim successfully and he was taken to hospital, the fire department reported in a social media message earlier today, Dec. 10.
