Princeton hunting trip costs Richmond man $8,000

A Richmond man was fined $8,000 and banned from hunting for four years for shooting a mule deer doe out of season in November 2018 in Princeton.

The man pleaded guilty to four counts under the Wildlife Act, the B.C. Conservation Officer Service said. They did not release the name of the man, nor go into the details of the hunting incident.

"The BCCOS hopes this sizeable fine will help deter similar incidents from happening," they said.

Suspected poaching incidents can be reported to the #RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277.
