Unlicenced Nelson doctor disciplined for doing botox injections

A Nelson doctor has been disciplined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia for administering Botox without a medical licence and his trainee licence had expired.

Dr. Vincent Arguelles Zenarosa agreed to a consent agreement with the college after admitting to unprofessional conduct doing Botox injections to a patient without supervision.

According to the Dec. 18 agreement, Zenarosa also consented to being placed on the conditional disciplined class of registration should he reapply for license with the college.

He was given a formal reprimand along with the expectation he will participate in continuing medical education and professional development in ethics and professionalism.

“Given the importance of ensuring all persons practising medicine are licensed with the college to ensure public protection, the inquiry committee determined a disciplinary outcome was appropriate,” the college said in its notification.
