Okanagan shows it’s ready for its close-up with Hallmark movie premier

Need an excuse to stay out of the snow and soak in some post-holiday drama?

An opportunity to see some local scenery and at least a few familiar faces as they are introduced to an international audience has arrived with the premier of Love in Winterland.

The Hallmark movie, which stars Italia Ricci, Chad Michael Murray and Jack Turner, was shot at Big White Ski Resort and it debuts Jan. 11 at 9 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel.

The movie is about Ally, a final contestant on a dating show, who must face her high school sweetheart when she is chosen for the Hometown Date.

As a bonus, a local seasonal celebrity who goes by the name Santa Tom can be seen from time to time, too.
