KELOWNA – Fortis B.C. electric workers are about to turn out the lights for 500 people in the Lakeshore Road, Stellar Drive and Uplands Court area.
A vehicle slid down a hill and crashed into a Fortis B.C. power pole earlier this morning. The wooden shaft was broken in half but the power lines held and there was no unplanned disruption, Fortis B.C. spokesperson Michael Allison said.
Allison recommended affected customers to keep their doors and windows closed to conserve heat for the estimated three hours needed for repairs. The work is expected to start shortly.
A witness said the vehicle's occupants appeared uninjured. Additional information from Kelowna RCMP is not available at this time.
