RCMP identify victims in Coldstream double murder

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP have identified the victims in a double homicide in Coldstream that happened two years ago.

Camilo Alonso and Jacob Rommann were killed in Coldstream at the Kalview Trailer Park on Jan. 17, 2023, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Investigators are also looking for two men who are considered people of interest in the murders, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Feb. 14.

“There are people out there with knowledge of the deaths of Camilo Alonso and Jacob Rommann and we are asking those individuals to come forward and contact the police,” RCMP Staff Sgt. Jason Smart said in the release.

Police received a report about an assault with a weapon at a mobile home in the 8500-block of Clerke Road around 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 17, 2023.

When officers arrived two bodies were inside the home and a third person had life-threatening injuries.

Bloody hand stains were visible on the door of the trailer.

At the time, a neighbour told iNFOnews.ca he saw an RCMP officer pointing a rifle at the trailer at around 6 a.m.

“He was stood there an hour,” the neighbour said about the officer with the rifle.

The neighbour didn’t know who lived in the trailer but described it as a “party house” where “questionable” people lived.

He said he heard doors slamming at about 5:30 a.m. and the police showed up at roughly 5:45 a.m.

The neighbour said he didn’t hear any shots fired.

Investigators have released photos of two men in the hopes that someone from the public can identify them.

Police said the case is still a priority and the investigation is ongoing.
