Vernon man house hunting after $500,000 lotto win

A Vernon man who won $500,000 playing the lottery plans to do some house hunting.

Rielly Cameron won the Extra prize on the Dec. 24, 2024, Lotto Max draw, according to a BC Lottery Corporation media release issued today, Feb. 19.

“I bought the ticket on Christmas Eve and on Christmas morning I saw on Facebook that there was an unclaimed ticket in Vernon,” Cameron said in the release. ““It’s surreal.”

Cameron said he also plans to do some travelling with the lotto winnings.

“I’m excited to get my passport ready and go visit some places,” he said.
