KAMLOOPS – Police discovered stolen goods on a man acting suspiciously around parked cars along Linden Avenue yesterday.
RCMP received a report about the man just before 8 p.m. They were told he was checking out cars parked in driveways. When Mounties arrived, they found the man, 30, and arrested him. After searching him, they discovered he was in possession of a credit card and external cell phone battery reported missing from a vehicle earlier in the day.
The credit card had already been used to make fraudulent purchases, police say.
The man will appear in court to face potential charges of possession of stolen property.
The RCMP is reminding people to keep valuables out of parked vehicles, to keep vehicles locked and to report suspicious people in their neighbourhoods.
