Kamloops RCMP find cash, guns and drugs in series of weekend seizures

Kamloops RCMP found guns, cash and drugs while on patrol over the weekend.

The Crime Reduction Unit was out on the street and made several seizures and arrests, according to a press release from police.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Seymour Street around 2 a.m. on March 28. During the stop police realized the man had a handgun in a suspender strap, ammunition, cash, and drugs. The man was released with conditions and a court date.

A few hours before police made a traffic stop on a vehicle associated with a local drug trafficker on March 27. Officers found fentanyl, meth and cocaine which was seized for destruction.

The driver was prohibited so officers impounded the vehicle and released the driver with a court date.

Officers patrolling around Hillside Way seized another gun around 10 p.m. on March 29. Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle that was seen at a home associated with drug activity.

Police arrested two people for drug possession and found a modified rifle. Both suspects were released without process as police continue to investigate.
