Lytton woman wins $191,000 lottery jackpot
A woman woke up from a nap in Lytton and found out she had won $191,000.
Jennifer Brown had a nap only to wake up at 2:30 a.m., discombobulated by the darkness.
She checked her lottery ticket on her phone and discovered she had won the March 18 Lotto Max draw, according to a press release from BC Lottery Corporation.
“I was at a big basketball tournament all week long,” Brown said in the release. “When I woke up… I checked the ticket on my phone and discovered I won. I thought it was $191, then I saw three more digits and started crying.”
She woke her son to tell him the news.
“He thought I got a leg cramp hence I was crying. I told him I won and showed him my phone,” she said.
Brown is retired but she managed the Junior All Native Tournament.
“We’ve got 114 teams in total this year and my son is the coach,” she said.
She plans on buying a new car and taking a trip.
“I will maybe travel to Asia if my son can take some time off,” she said.
Brown bought her ticket from the Lake City Casino in Vernon.
