Pedestrian points pistol at Kamloops driver

A person was arrested in Kamloops today after they pointed a handgun at a driver.

Kamloops RCMP were called to the 100-block of Tranquille Road after receiving a report that someone yelled and waved a handgun at a driver who honked at them around 11 a.m. today, April 2, according to a press release from police.

There was an officer nearby with the Police Dog Service Unit and they took the suspect into custody. Backup officers arrived shortly to help the first officer on the scene.

The suspect was taken to lodging cells as part of the ongoing investigation.

Anyone who saw the incident, has information, or video of the incident has been asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2025-9416.
