RCMP release images of Salmon Arm bank robbery suspect

Salmon Arm RCMP are asking for the public's help in identifying a robbery suspect from an incident that occurred last year.

Around 4:10 p.m. on Oct. 21 of 2019, police responded to a robbery at a financial institution in downtown Salmon Arm on Ross Street, according to an RCMP media release. RCMP do not say which financial institution was robbed.

The suspect hid his identity with a balaclava and allegedly pointed a gun at the teller while demanding money, and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police say.

RCMP describe the suspect as a Caucasian male, 6” or 6”1’ tall and between the ages of 30 and 35. He was seen wearing black Puma track pants, with two grey or white stripes going down each leg, a black winter jacket, black skate shoes, a black balaclava and a pair of sunglasses. He was carrying what was believed to be a grey or silver handgun.

RCMP Southeast District media relations officer Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says they are now releasing images from video surveillance footage, "which show the yet to be identified suspect in action."
