Want to be an extra for Jurassic World 3? It may be filming in Merritt

If you ever looked at the rolling hills of Merritt and thought they were fit for some prehistoric carnage, you may have been right.

A website called Jurassic Outpost chases down all things related to the dinosaur-based series and they say Jurassic World 3 will be filming in Merritt between Feb. 25 and March 6.

A Burnaby-based talent company has also made a call for extras to work in that area that add some insight into what the new film may look like.

“We’re looking for men and women, ages 25 to 65, to play mill workers, fisherman, and townsfolk in a feature film. Applicants must have reliable transport.”

The final instalment in the rebooted trilogy named Arcadia was expected to be seen filming somewhere in the area according to a B.C. production list posted online in December. Other locations for the Universal Studios film included Hawaii, Malta and Pinewood Studios in London.

IMDB says Laura Dern will be back as Dr. Ellie Sattler, Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant and, of course, Goldblum as Malcolm once again. The production also stars the faces we’ve come to know from the earlier Jurassic World films: Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.
