Marathon Kelowna standup paddler subject of documentary
KELOWNA – A local documentary film producer is premiering his latest effort in Kelowna.
Carry Missler’s film “The Paddler” is based on Bob Purdy, the Kelowna man who has been standup paddling every day since Jan. 1, 2013 as part of his fight for the environment.
Purdy, who calls himself an elder in training, founded World Paddle for the Planet Day. He has paddled almost 1,500 straight days so far with no end in sight.
The Paddler will be screened at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 8 p.m.
The film project was funded by the website Kickstarter.
