Oliver stranger danger incident was not ‘criminal in nature:’ RCMP
Oliver RCMP investigating a 'stranger danger 'incident that took place yesterday have discovered there were no criminal intentions involved.
Police identified the man seen conversing with children waiting for a school bus to take them to the Sen Pok Chin School yesterday morning, Feb. 12.
The man drove off after parents noticed him talking to the children, asking them if they wanted to see his puppy.
Police spokesperson Sgt. Jason Bayda said in a media release today police spoke with the man and are satisfied his intentions were not criminal in nature.
“Oliver RCMP would like to thank the man for his courage to come forward and help set the mind of parents in the community at ease. The RCMP also wish to commend the children for their courage to do the right thing and the complainant for reporting the circumstances to police,” Sgt. Bayda said.
