You can help the RCMP name these future police dogs

Canada's national police force is asking for the public’s help in naming the next crop of police dogs.

The chosen names will be given to 13 German shepherd puppies born at the police dog service training centre in Innisfail, Alta., according to an RCMP media release.

The 13 children whose names are chosen will each receive a laminated photo of the puppy they named, a plush dog named Justice and a RCMP water bottle.

Names must begin with the letter N, have no more than nine letters, and be one or two syllables.

Contestants must live in Canada and be four to 14 years old. Only one entry per child will be eligible and all entries must be received by Wednesday, March 25.

Contest winners will be announced on April 29 on the RCMP website and social media.

For information on how to enter the contest, visit the RCMP website here.

The contest is open to children across Canada. RCMP website
