Hedge lit on fire in Kelowna, RCMP to investigate

A Kelowna hedge fire sparked Saturday night is suspicious in nature and will be investigated by the RCMP.

At approximately 7 p.m. the Kelowna Fire Department dispatch center received multiple calls reporting a cedar hedge on fire near the intersection of Cameron Road and Gordon Drive.

The first arriving officer reported a large cedar hedge approx. 30-feet long on fire.

The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the hedge.

"The fire also did cause some damage to part of the fencing around the affected property," John Kelly, Kelowna Fire Department platoon captain said, in a press release.

"The fire is deemed suspicious and will be investigated by the RCMP."
