West Kelowna firefighter injured in outbuilding fire

A West Kelowna firefighter sustained a minor injury in a late-night fire of an outbuilding.

West Kelowna Fire Rescue responded at 9:53 p.m. yesterday, Feb 25, to multiple reports of an outbuilding in a fully involved fire.

When crews arrived with four engines and 15 personnel, they were quickly able to extinguish the blaze.

Lionel Bateman, West Kelowna's assistant fire chief, said there were no occupants and over the course of the incident there was one minor injury of a firefighter.

The fire is under investigation.
