A Kamloops man will be among 16 Big Brother houseguests when the new season debuts March 4 .
John Luke Kieper, 23, was revealed to be among the contestants on Season 8 of the reality show.
“John Luke may seem like a laidback, carefree guy, but don’t peg him for a floater,” reads the bio published by Big Brother. “This extremely athletic scholar plans to downplay his intelligence by outsmarting the houseguests.”
In his audition video, Kieper said that he’s often mistaken for being a surfer, but he’s actually “God awful at surfing” and “pretty intelligent.”
Those two things are what set him apart from any other “random hunk from Kamloops.”
Kieper is the first Kamloops resident to be on the show, but it was recently won by a Kelownian Dane Rupert.
The Season 8 houseguests are competing for a grand prize of $100,000; $10,000 worth of groceries courtesy of Summer Fresh; and an unforgettable trip for two anywhere in the world from Expedia.
