West Kelowna actress featured in Times Square

West Kelowna native Taylor Hickson is celebrating after an advertisement of her upcoming TV series appeared in New York this week.

Born and raised in West Kelowna, Hickson, 22, is starring in the upcoming drama/thriller series Motherland: Fort Salem as lead role Raelle Collar.

Hickson posted a photo of the poster in Times Square on her verified Facebook page.

Hickson's career began when she was 12, according to her IMDB, singing alongside her father on B.C. stages.

She began to write her own material and graduated high school a year early to focus on a music career.

According to IMDB, she got into acting when a relative encouraged to audition at 16.

Once Hickson began auditioning, one of her first roles was in the psychological thriller Blackway with Anthony Hopkins, Ray Liotta, and Julia Stiles.

Hickson also played a minor role in the 2016 Marvel movie Deadpool.

Motherland: Fort Salem premieres March 18 on Freeform.
