A man is in critical condition after being struck by a train near Ashcroft.
Cpl. Madonna Saunderson with the North District and Prince George RCMP says the call came in at 12:38 p.m., when Canadian Pacific Railway employees reported the incident.
“A man had been involved in a train incident and has been taken to hospital in critical condition with injuries listed as severe," Saunderson says. "The information we have at this point is that this is a tragic accident, it would appear the man had been out enjoying a day of fishing.”
CP Police spokesperson Salem Woodrow says the accident happened near Mesa Vista Court in Ashcroft.
Information on his age and where he is from has not yet been released.
