TRENDING NOW: Joe Rogan podcast explores COVID-19

Comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan's podcast with infectious disease expert Michael Osterholm on the seriousness of the novel coronavirus is going absolutely nuts on YouTube.

It's worth a look, but here's a standard caution as we all try to soberly digest what's going on — check your sources. While Osterholm plainly states what he knows and suspects will happen, and appears to be an authority on the subject, it's important to note that he is unclear in this video about virus transmission. The latest information from the Centers for Disease Control are clear that this virus is not airborne, it's only transmitted through direct contact. Osterholm likely means that if someone is infected and they cough or sneeze, it could be transmitted by inhalation.

It's also worth noting that this discussion is largely about American preparedness and reactions.
