Licenced grower caught with 409 plants
LUMBY – With only a few months to go before the new marijuana grow legislations kicks in, a licenced grow-op was dismantled in Lumby because the growers had far exceeded their limit.
Mounties executed a search warrant for drugs in the 100 block of Rawlings Road January 7. When they arrived they found some of the crop had already been harvested, but they were able to seize the remaining 409 plants.
As well, a stolen ATV was discovered in the same outbuilding.
B.C. Hydro turned off power to the property for safety reasons while the grow-op is being dismantled.
A man, 30 and a woman, 28 are each facing charges.
