Kamloops liquor store worker slashed with knife during robbery

An employee at a Kamloops liquor store was slashed with a knife during a robbery this afternoon.

Officers were called to a robbery at the U District Liquor Store at around 12:25 p.m. today, March 19, according to an RCMP media release.

The liquor store employee was taken to a local medical facility with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A male suspect entered the store and slashed the employee with a knife before stealing money from the till and fleeing, police say. Officers set up a perimeter but were unable to locate the suspect.

RCMP describe the suspect as Indigenous male in his 30s with red/orange hair on the top of his head. He was wearing glasses, and black and tan boots.

Anyone who sees this individual should not approach them, but cal 9-1-1, police warn.
