Dr. Bonnie Henry steps into the limelight… in fabulous footwear

When tuning in to the daily press conferences from B.C.'s provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, the first thing you might notice is her calm assertiveness as she lays out some of the most drastic measures B.C. has ever undertaken for its own population.

You may feel reassured that she's got this covered and doing what she feels is necessary to stop the spread of COVID-19, so it's entirely fair if you didn't notice her shoes.

But if you've been ogling them since day one, you're not alone.

A Twitter user spotted these pink heels, and suspected that they are these Lottie Deno heels by Fluevog.

These funky blue heels also caught some attention.

As most of the nation is regularly tuning in to media briefings from government health officials, they've become celebrities of a sort.

Check out these T-shirts, produced by two Calgary clothing makers and a local artist, that feature colourful renderings of Canada's chief public health officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, as well as Dr. Deena Hinshaw and Dr. Bonnie Henry, the provincial health officers of Alberta and British Columbia.

Dr. Henry currently has two fan pages, one on Facebook and one on Twitter.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw was spotted in a very unique periodic table dress, and since then, the Victoria, B.C. store that produces them has ramped up their production to meet new demand.

In these troubling times, it's nice to see government officials who are working tirelessly get some recognition, and a little stardom.
