Close call in two car crash

'WOMAN NARROWLY ESCAPED SERIOUS INJURY'

LAKE COUNTRY – Two women were sent to hospital after a two vehicle crash this afternoon along Highway 97, police say.

Lake Country RCMP Const. Jesse O'Donaghey says a 33-year-old Lake Country woman was attempting a left hand turn when her blue sedan was hit by an oncoming pickup truck at Highway 97 and Oceola Road. O'Donaghey says she 'narrowly escaped serious injury.'

She and the 55-year-old Vernon woman in the truck were taken to hospital for precaution.

"At this time police are continuing to investigate this crash, neither speed nor alcohol are considered to be contributing factors, and no charges have yet been laid," O'Donaghey says.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash, and has not yet spoken with police, is asked to contact the Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288.
