Snowbirds returning to thrill Penticton
PENTICTON – You will have to look up, way up, to see the highlight of the Peach Festival this year. The Snowbirds are returning to Penticton after a two year absence to kick off the August celebration.
The precision flying squadron will perform over Okanagan Lake in celebration of the Peach Festival opening day on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
“We’re thrilled,” local organizing committee chair Fred Trainor commented, adding it takes a lot of work and money to bring the group too the city.
“We are fortunate to get them back. We know Penticton is one of their favourite host cities.”
The Canadian Forces team is expected to spend three days in Penticton. A public meet-and-greet event will be scheduled during their visit.
The aerial squadron was last in Penticton in 2013.
