Complaint of person in distress determined to be unfounded after police investigate near Landmark District

Kelowna RCMP responded to reports of a person being held against their will April 11 near the Landmark District in Kelowna.

"On April 11, just before 2:30 am, Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of a possible person in distress in a unit within a residential building near Dickson Ave and Belford Ave. The complainant to police reported that his friend may have been taken against her will and that there may have been a weapon involved. RCMP frontline officers responded immediately to the area and after further investigation, it was determined that the complaint was unfounded," said Cst. Solana Pare in an email.

A woman was arrested for an unrelated warrant and released on scene, she said in the email.
