Three human caused wildfires burning in the Thompson Okanagan

Three wildfires were sparked in the Okanagan and Kamloops regions over the weekend, as of Sunday April 12.

The Lauder Road fire is about 8.5 kilometres east of Highway 5A, and was estimated to be 20 hectares in size. A response officer was on site, with three additional personnel and a helicopter en route, according to a B.C. Wildfire Facebook post.

Another fire was 17 km north of Lytton with six crew members on-site to build a handguard along the southern flank of the fire. It was about 10 hectares in size.

The Barcelo Road fire was about four kilometres south of Cawston on the west side of the Similkameen River and was about three hectares in size. One Response Officer and three personnel responded.

All were reported to be human-caused.
