Property tax time

KAMLOOPS — If you haven’t got it yet, you will soon. City property tax bills have been mailed out and it is up to you to make sure you have paid by July 2.

City council agreed to a two per cent tax hike this year, about $35 to the average homeowner. Council was originally looking at a nearly five per cent increase but managed to cut several larger budget items early on.

Residents can apply for homeowner grants online to help reduce the tax burden and payment can be made through online banking, the 24-hour drop box at City Hall, at your bank and at City. Because of road construction near City Hall a temporary location has also been set up at McArthur Island Sports Centre.
